Coastal Escape

Sometimes, there is no relief to be sought from the heat of the valley. In such cases, one must escape to the coast. And that is exactly what I did this weekend with my dear friend Leah. The heat and life were driving us crazy so we headed for cooler temps, sea breezes, shopping, and our personal obsession - sushi!

We had an awesome time complete with a lot of talking and even more laughter. At one point, a strange lady on the boardwalk at Avila Beach stared so intently at our feet and then broke into a coughing and gagging feet, I was sure that our feet were causing her to have an aneurysm. We couldn't figure it out. They look pretty cute to us.

I'm constantly reminded now what a blessing it is to have good friends in your life. I'm so grateful to have Leah in my life and be able to talk to someone about the joys, and occasional strains, of newlywed life. She's a gem!
