Happy (belated) birthday gift to me!

I'm one of those people that believe in giving yourself a gift on special holidays and birthday. Yes, you are already sure to get a mountain of gifts, but there is something fun about treating yourself while you are out shopping for everyone else. I do it every Christmas, and just recently, I started doing it for my birthday too. Hey, at least you are guaranteed to get at least one thing you really wanted! (Do you like how I try and justify this?).

This year, seeing as I celebrated a milestone birthday in September, I figured it was worth a bigger treat. ;) And granted, I've been saving my dollars and pennies for months now for this thing. I was delighted to receive a little extra cash for my birthday too and it put me right over the top... to buy...

An iPad! Yes, yes, if you know me well, you know that I'm a technology junkie and Apple products are right up my alley. I've been playing with it all week, though I'm surprised to find my primary use being the same things I do on my laptop (just in a smaller lighter format) and reading on it (like I usually do on my Kindle). Either way, it's alot of fun and a nice treat for my big 3-Oh!

When watching show like The Jetsons growing up, I never thought we'd get to the point with technology where we are now. A computer that fits in your hand?! Phones that do almost everything?! I just never thought it possible... let alone flying cars, but who knows? ;)
